Vision: To support safety in sports through brain injury prevention and rehabilitation. Mission: To be a leader in reducing sports related brain injuries.
Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation
HOBC understands the importance of safety in boxing and brain injury prevention. We partner with local and national hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and health industry professionals to provide education on safety in boxing in addition to raising social awareness of Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury’s (CTBI), Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), Concussions and various brain impacting sports related injuries.
HOBC believes it is our responsibility to empower future champions to protect, prepare and perform. This is why we support low resource athletic programs and facilities by donating athletic protective gear and brain injury rehabilitation equipment. Research shows that there are more than 1.7 million documented TBIs annually, 173,285 of which are sports related TBIs among children and adolescents. As the number of participants in youth sports continues to grow, the incidence of brain injury is proportionally increasing as well. Being able to provide these athletic programs and facilities with the proper equipment, technology and education is imperative to help prevent sports related brain injuries.
HOBC needs your continues support to further our efforts. HOBC depends on public support to help various communities and programs in need. We rely on the generosity of the corporate sponsors and individual contributors to help youth in need every day.
